1. Who We Are

Scenara is a communication skills platform that helps users improve their speaking and presentation skills. We are the data controller for personal information we process when you use our Service.

2. Data We Collect

Account information: Name, email address, password (hashed)

Usage data: Pages visited, features used, session duration, device and browser information

Speech and content data: Audio and video recordings you upload or record, transcripts, feedback, scores, and analytics

Billing data: Payment details processed by our payment provider (we do not store full card details)

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to provide and maintain the Service, analyse recordings and generate feedback, show your progress, communicate with you, provide support, and improve the Service.

If you separately opt in, an authorised human coach may review a camera recording alongside Scenara's automated feedback to evaluate and improve the quality of that feedback, including our STANCE communication framework. This permission is optional and is not required to use a practice session.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

We process your data on the basis of contract (to provide the Service), legitimate interests (to improve and secure the Service), and consent (for certain marketing communications and optional human review of camera recordings).

5. How We Share Your Data

We may share data with service providers who help operate the Service, professional advisors, and authorities where required by law. We do not sell your personal data.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as necessary to provide the Service, meet contractual obligations, and comply with legal requirements. Camera recordings retained for optional human coaching review are deleted within 90 days, or sooner if you withdraw that permission in Settings. If you close your account, we may delete or anonymise your other content after a reasonable period.

7. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and regular security monitoring.

8. Your Rights

You have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to processing, and data portability. You can exercise these via account settings or by contacting us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the ICO.

9. Cookies

We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used.

10. Children's Data

Scenara is not designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under this age.
